My Birthday Candy

Hello Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I am glad to be home after having an amazing holiday in Turkey with my lovely hubby Rick.
I will be posting later in the week photographs of our time in Istanbul and a couple of the lovely lace I got.

On Saturday it is my birthday and I am celebrating by giving blog candy away to two people.

Happy Birthday to Me

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

An early post today I am off to Leeds for our journalling workshop, also it is my birthday today and going to be taking some cake with me ;)

Whatever you have planned for today may it be a truly wonderful day.

A birthday card made using the Paper Shelter image called "The Lady"


Step by Step

1. 8 x 8 white square card.
2. Matted and layered mink pearlescent card with deep pink card at an angle.
3. Printed off the backing sheet that came with the image and adhered to base card.
4. Decoupaged the image using Pinflair and then added the cream lace and bling.
5. To finish off I added the sentiment and pearl flower.

Time is Precious

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

YAY it's Friday, what do you have planned for this weekend?

Tomorrow is my birthday and Gill and I are off to Leeds to a workshop with my good friend Mike.

A male card to share with you today using Kaiser Craft A moment in time paper pack.


Step by Step

1. 6 x 6 square Kraft deckle edge base card.
2. Matted and layered 2 different papers from Kaiser Craft.
3. Cut out the topper from my stash and distressed with vintage photo.
4. Added elements from the ephemera pack.
5. To finish off added the sentiment.

Istanbul Turkey 2016

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

An early post this morning as off to see my parents.

As you know Rick and I went to Turkey for our holiday this year.  The first couple of days we spent in Istanbul which has been on my husbands bucket list for a while.

I was last there in 1988 and it sure has changed and developed for the better!



We took this photograph from the Topkapi Palace which looks across the Bosphorus.


This is the Harem in the Palace. The architecture and fabulous mosaics are stunning!


The work that had gone into decorating the palace is awesome. I particularly love these stained glass windows.


This is Aya Sophie, it is under restoration and again the inside is magnificent.


An inside view from Aya Sophia, you can see in the middle Mary with baby Jesus.


Sultan Ahmet mosque.


This shows the inside mosaics of the mosque. AMAZING!

This is a photo of hubby and I on our last day in Istanbul.



Finally as you all know I love my lace and the above 2 photographs are what I brought back with me.

We did visit the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar too but for some reason the photographs haven't turned out at all. So disappointed!

I hope that you have enjoyed just a small selection of photographs from our time in Istanbul.
The hotel, food and most of all people of Istanbul were so friendly which is why we love holidaying there!

If you get the opportunity to visit this amazing city please do, you will not be disappointed.

Parchment Birthday

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

A busy day today as got  few DT projects to be creating.

I hope that you are all keeping well and remind you of my other blog which I showcase my mixed media projects.

Today is a parchment birthday card I created doing my first grid work in such a long time.


Step by Step

1. A5 landscape white card turn on its side to create a tent card.
2. Matted and layered gold pearlescent card wrapping red satin ribbon around the bottom of the card before adhering to base card.
3. Using an assortment of patterns from my Pergamano books created the topper.
4. Coloured the leaves and flowers with my Derwent colouring pencils, adhered to red card with brads before adhering to base card.
5. To finish off I made a faux chocolate box bow using red satin ribbon.

Vintage Santa

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

A busy day today catching up on my commenting and admin.
Hopefully will be able to get into the craft room and do some crafting.
Design team projects to make a start on too.

A vintage Christmas card today.


Step by Step

1. 6 x 6 Kraft square deckle edge base card.
2. Matted and layered papers from my stash, the top layer cut to create a triangle.
3. Distressed the doily with DI vintage photo before adhering the topper.
4. Added the sentiment with foam pads.
5. To finish off add the brown gems to the corners.

Children's Tea Party

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

How are you all today?
I am so glad that the weather was kind to me yesterday as I managed to get all 3 loads of washing washed, dried, ironed and put back up in the loft ready for our next holiday.

I wanted to thank each and everyone of you who took the time to visit and comment on my posts whilst I was away sunning myself, they meant a lot to me, more than you can know.

Today a nice vintage card to share with you.


Step by Step

1. 7 x 7 white square card base.
2. Matted and layered black pearlescent card and patterned card which I have distressed with DI Dusty Concord.
3. I matted and layered the image onto black pearlescent card.
4. Added the lace along the bottom with some small roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.
5. To finish off I added the sentiment and black pearl gems.
